○ In reporting on North Korean agents who secretly work remotely for US tech companies, Businessweek contributing writer Evan Ratliff came across one whose US facilitator looked so much like him, the agent sent him in his place to an in-person meeting.
○ To represent modern homeownership, photographer and illustrator Tonje Thilesen built miniature houses out of polystyrene and cardboard. “Being a millennial in the present housing market very much feels like playing house,” she says.
○ Bloomberg News reporter Daniel Flatley covers the US Treasury, and Erik Schatzker is editorial director of Bloomberg New Economy. Before profiling Scott Bessent, they weren’t aware that it’s OK in South Carolina to drink Dr Pepper for breakfast.
○ Bloomberg Audio senior editor Stacey Vanek Smith co-hosts the Businessweek podcast Everybody’s Business. Writing her column, she learned tariffs hit low-price items first— an effect called “cheapflation.”
○ Brad Stone is editor of Bloomberg Businessweek. His three teenage daughters may one day hold his generation accountable for the indebted world they’ll inherit.
