A peacock mantis shrimp is about the length of an adult’s hand.

TIGERS IN SNOW
Tigers hide so they can sneak up on the animals they hunt. Patches of white fur help these tigers hide in the snow. Stripes help them blend in with trees.
Amur tigers mostly hunt deer and wild boar.
A tiger mum teaches her cubs to hide and hunt. A snuggle with mum helps the cubs warm up!
Cubs stay with their mum until they are almost two years old.
The long fur around the tiger’s neck is called a ruff.

Pretend to be a Raggiana bird! Make a loud call and shake your feathers.
The bird puffs out his chest. Then he dances on the tree branch. He shakes and flashes his colourful feathers.

These birds live in tropical forests on the island of New Guinea.
The males gather near the top of tall trees.
Raggiana birds of paradise eat fruit.
Female Raggiana birds of paradise do not have long fancy feathers.
For his big finish, this bird of paradise poses like a flower. He bends over so his long, fluffy feathers fall just right. Now they look like the petals of a fancy flower. Ta-da!
