Fennel

I grow fennel for the seeds, which I add to homemade bread and use as a delicious tea. The seeds are really good to alleviate bloating. Just crush them slightly before steeping in hot water for 5 minutes. Jilly MacDonald, Strathmore I love bulb fennel. It can be eaten raw – it has a more pronounced aniseed flavour when raw – and cooked. If you don’t like celery, or don’t have it growing in the garden, you can use bulb fennel inside.
